SAMPLE  DAY EXCURSIONS

 

Poas Volcano, La Paz Waterfall
This is one of the most spectacular volcanoes in the country. The crater, which is 1Km. in diameter and 314 meters deep, is one of the largest in the world.

Included: Transportation, Lunch, Visit to Coffee Plantation, Butterfly and Hummingbird Garden, Path to the waterfall, and Entrance to Poas Volcano
Departure: 7:00 A.M.
Return: 5:00 P.M.

 

Canopy Tour
You can either go to Poas or San Lorenzo. This trip is done on ropes amongst the treetops. Appreciate first hand the great biodiversity that nature has to offer. The tours are done with very good equipment and visitors are secured with harnesses and security lines. Go between bridges and platforms 15 meters off the ground or higher, as high as 27 meters.

City Tour of San Jose
This is a perfect opportunity for those who love cultural tourism. A half-day trip through the city of San Jose, visiting the National Theatre, the National Museum, the prestigious University of San Jose, various government buildings, the center of San Jose and beautiful residential areas.

Return: 2:00 P.M.

 

Sarchi Artists and Cart Making
Known as the birthplace of Costa Rican art, Sarchi is the perfect place to see the technique and the manual art of our country. You will see leather working, jewelry, bronze casting, wood, and other materials. Here you can acquire beautiful hand made crafts to remind you of your stay in these warm lands.

Irazu Volcano, Cartago, and Orosi
One of the active volcanoes closest to the country’s capital, located only one and a half hours from San Jose. In the surrounding areas you will encounter the Orosi valley, one of the richest agricultural zones in Costa Rica generated by the volcanic ash and smoke.
