



VERITAS coordinates with different NGO’s and companies to offer Internships. Students who would like to experience the labor environment in Costa Rica can apply during their Junior or Senior year to work for 2 to 4 months in a project related to their field of study.

Our business internships are designed to provide interns with practical work experience according to their qualifications, previous work experience, aspirations and personal preferences. The internships are for those who would like to acquire professional skills and hands-on experience in Costa Rican medium and small business with an established company abroad.

Interns will assist public school educators in low income areas by teaching English to children. In addition to teaching English, Interns also have the option to assist in helping children with their homework, extra tutoring, planning / assisting with recreational activities, conducting art/dance-related exercises, encouraging various levels of the children's self-expression, as well as supporting routine school maintenance.

The internships in the health field offer advanced and qualified nursing and physical therapy students the opportunity to experience the Costa Rican health care system through hands-on projects. Medical students and advanced nursing students may participate in a clinical rotations placement in a hospital.

Internships in the political science field will be predominantly placements in government offices. Interns who have the required academic background may be able to participate in international affairs projects or in other legislative assembly government projects. Interns will be able to help with specific internationalization projects within certain government offices.

The social work Internship is an ideal way to experience the variety of tasks, roles, and responsibilities within a social work environment in Costa Rica. These include a variety of organizations focused on helping specific groups such as children, senior citizens, low income communities, etc. Placements for this field include schools, voluntary associations and social change organizations.

The company and a VERITAS faculty member will evaluate interns during and at the end of the placement in order to obtain university credits. By the end of the internship the intern will have to do a presentation about the experience outcome.
The main objective of the program is to promote the cultural and professional exchange among Costa Rican companies and international students. Students can apply for the Internship program from February through November
